Top Tips:
  1. Use a flat spatula or stirring stick to thoroughly stir.
  2. Sand wood until the P120 grit sand paper grade is reached. This is the optimal grade for applying Osmo UV Protection-Oils.
  3. Please give wood species with plenty of ingredients (such cedar, iroko, teak, mahogany, etc.) 12 weeks to weather before applying.
  4. The performance of UV-Protection Oils is best on vertically oriented wood. More maintenance will be required for horizontal parts.
  5. Make sure there is at least a 15 degree slant on horizontal areas to help water run off. Sharp edges must be rounded (radius > 2 mm).
  6. The drying durations will be lengthened by excessive application, lower temperatures, and inadequate ventilation.
  7. Sunlight's UV rays aid in the breakdown of the lignin that surrounds the wood's fibres as a protective layer. Additionally, moisture aids in the lignin's depletion and the natural ageing of the wood fibres. Compared to bare wood, Osmo UV-Protection Oils significantly postpone the greying effect by 12 times.
  8. Active biocides are included in Osmo UV-Protection-Oil 420 Extra to assist shield the film coating against the impacts of mould, algae, and fungal attack. The additional biocides do not stop fungus, algae, or mould from growing on the coating.
  9. Use Osmo UV-Protection-Oil 410 if a clear UV protection finish without biocides is desired, such as for animal enclosures.
