Overview
Osmo UV-Protection Oil Tints is a satin, natural oil-based finish ideal for use on all vertical wood surfaces in outdoor areas. Recommended for use on doors, windows, shutters, cladding, fences, pergolas, and summer houses. As a topcoat on already colour treated wood, Osmo UV-Protection-Oil Tints prolongs the renovation intervals significantly. As a single product application, it blocks the greying process on vertical surfaces with a UV protection factor of 12 in comparison to untreated wood when two coats are applied.

Preparation
Ensure the surface is clear from debris, dry and frost-free
- Clean old microporous stains thoroughly.
- Old paints and lacquers must be completely removed by sanding or using a paint stripper such as . Do not sand smooth surfaces finer than grit P120.
- If you have weathered or greying wood it may affect the finished colour we would advise using prior to application.
- If additional protection against blue stain, rot and insects is desired, pre-treat the wood if possible on all sides with Osmo WR Base Coat.
Note: Fresh, especially hardwood rich in extractives needs to weather off for approximately 6 weeks after installation. Thereby the wood becomes absorbent and the oil finish adheres optimally.
Application
Before applying the product test a small area on the surface to be treated to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Results are influenced by the condition of the wood therefore a trial application is highly recommended.

- Apply thinly evenly along the wood grain and spread well.
- Allow to dry for 12 hours under good ventilation.
- Apply a second coat as above.

Damp cleaning with . Using general or multi-purpose cleaners will increase the frequency of maintenance and recoating.
Maintenance

Simply re-apply one coat onto the clean and dry surface when signs of wear become visible.
